Calling BS on #18. According to Snopes they’ve been popular in waves since the 1980s, and I think the surge this past decade was brought to full pop-culture force by the LiveStrong campaign, which didn’t sell bracelets until just before the 2004 Tour de France (that’s July for you non-cyclists). Hardly what I’d call the “beginning of the decade”.
