As much as I enjoyed most of these movies, they have a point.

Uh, really?

• Jasmine’s ruse of pretending to be seduced by Jafar was critical to his eventual defeat. She also convinces her father to let her marry whomever she wants.
• Belle was a bookish irritant who refused to marry someone she didn’t love. She also talked—not seduced—a furious misanthrope back into being a productive member of society.
• Cinderella is able to fake her way through the most important social event in the kingdom after an extensive career as a maid.

Respect.

Also beats the living hell out of the role models you’d see on The Hills. Yes, including Audrina. No, I don’t know which one that is.
