I think this illustrates the detente the industry and the pirates have reached.

BitTorrent is just tricky enough that that dumbasses some users can’t figure it out.
Lawsuits have deterred some tech savvy users who are bad at math, and given the industry a pound of flesh.
Pirates who’ve cleared these hurdles have an easy enough time stealing things that there’s no pressure to create new methods of thievery.

A balance of power. Stable until someone shoots an archduke.

You guys, do remember this video being so next level when it came out?

[…]

Like, was it sad for you guys who Believed in the Pumpkins watch them immolerate themselves the way they did. Is it just accepted that Billy C is a douchey?

[…]

Was this like Gaga 4 U? I’m not being sarcastic!

I’m pretty sure you’re trolling. But whatever.

  1. No one over the age of 14 “Believed” with a capital B in the Pumpkins
  2. Corgan is mad douchey and it’s always been that way. People who were in college at the time told me the band would routinely get in (verbal) fights on stage from day one. The inevitable self-immolation was part of the appeal.
  3. This video was pretty much like every other alt rock video at the time. That said, seeing it was better than Lady Gaga because nowadays, you can go to YouTube and watch that shit at will. Back in the day you had to sit through at least TLC videos to get one of these—you had to earn it.

The Fratellis - “Chelsea Dagger”

Power pop, top hats, and Rubenesque ladies in corsets. Boom.

STFU Merlin. Your definition of Rubenesque betrays an ignorance to the work of Peter Paul Rubens.

Also, I’m pretty sure this song a monster.com/careerbuilder,com ad. Gonna post the video to Jerk It Out next?

Jay Z/Law and Order Theme Mashup. You can download it here.

Took the “Allure” acapella track from The Black Album and mixed it up with Mike Post’s iconic “Law and Order” TV theme. Or came as close as I could—matching tempos in Garage Band is not easy.
