Jay Z/Law and Order Theme Mashup. You can download it here.
Took the “Allure” acapella track from The Black Album and mixed it up with Mike Post’s iconic “Law and Order” TV theme. Or came as close as I could—matching tempos in Garage Band is not easy.
(what I did on my winter vacation, part 2)
Notorious B.I.G. / Miley Cyrus - Party in the B.I.G.
I know you’ve heard this before. This is a Public Service Announcement: if your NYE party mix does not include this, you officially lose 2009.
The Wet Bandits - Dirt Off Your Gangsta
Have I blogged this before? I must have. Jay-Z meets Chromeo. It’s outstanding. From these guys.
Nas- Fleetwood Mic (One Mic/The Chain mashup)
Listen all the way through. Payoff is the third verse. The acapella track I used is the radio edit, which is a little irritating.
Song In The Key Of Infidelity of the Day: Half Day Today (of Glenn Beck Radio Freak Out Remix fame) have kindly bestowed upon the Internet what it has been longing for since yesterday: A sweet slow jam remix of the infamous Tiger Woods-Jaimee Grubbs voicemail message.

Oh yeeeeeeeah. This is going on the iPod, no doubt.
“Take your naaaaame off your phone…”
Check out this high energy drum and bass meets the ATL little treat we’ve got for you today. You may recognize the Sub Focus track from The Wet Blog but we decided to make it a bit better. In fact, it’s the best outcome of any collaboration between any Georgia Hip-Hop and UK D&B that we can imagine.
I know one half of this group. He is fast at the bike.
Biggie Smalls & Miley Cyrus Remix
Last time I saw Brian Hayes in meatspace, he was giving out free, delicious, locally-brewed beer. This is still more awesome (but just barely).
Spare Change Guy/Chinese Stick Dude mashup!
Universal Hub threw down the gauntlet last week, and I just couldn’t resist. Can’t say the result was pretty, but given what I had to work with, still kinda impressive. Damn near killed GarageBand trying to gate and filter the busker into sounding good.
The erhu loop was sampled from Hybernaut’s Flickr video, and I snared the venerable Spare Change Guy singing Happy Birthday to VB on Fox25’s morning show. An mp3 file of the mashup is available here.
I used a YouTube video clip for a bit of sound right at the end, but for the most part, the videos of Spare Change Guy on the web were too sloppy to pull sound from. This past Saturday was also my birthday, so the serenade to VB was apropos.
Kunio Kato Remix! Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto!
I think we all know this was the best acceptance speech at the Oscars this year. What better way to commemorate it?
Here’s the mp3 version and the sample I used to slap it together, in GarageBand-friendly .aif format.
